Non-English lecturers’ perception and their difficulties toward English Proficiency Test (EPT) for lecturer certification

The importance of English Proficiency Test (EPT) cannot be separated from the career development lecturers in Indonesia, as it has become a requirement for obtaining much desired lecturer certification. This research is conducted to find out non-English lecturers’ perceptions and difficulties with EPT. It employed descriptive qualitative approach used questionnaire data collection method. results show that agree EPT deserved They were also agreement certain passing grades EPT, fees payment, institutions which administer scheduling study suggests case leans more towards doing concern 1) lack preparation form (both) offline online courses, 2) skills, 3) vocabularies, 8) time limit 4) overwhelming number questions, 5) unfamiliarity various types 6) absence clear guidelines 7) instructions test items.
